Paul's main focus is servitization, and how outcome-based contracts can increase margins and defend market share for domestic manufacturers against increasing threats from low-cost foreign products.

In 2022, the former managing director of JCB Finance joined Aston University as a Visiting Professor as part of their Advanced Services Group.

He has 50 years' experience in the asset finance industry, having been at JCB Finance in various roles for over 43 years.

In 2022 he also retired as a Board Director of the London based Finance & Leasing Association and Chair of their Asset Finance Division.

Paul is an Honorary Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and Finance and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. He was an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers from 1980.

He was presented with the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Asset Finance Connect organisation.
